Braselton Wants a Trader Joe's! Here's How to Request One

If there is one thing Braselton residents have made VERY clear lately, it’s this:

You want a Trader Joe's! 😂🛒

After I shared the news that Sprouts Farmers Market is coming to Braselton, Georgia, the response was incredible. That video quickly reached nearly 13,000 views on Facebook and more than 6,000 on TikTok.

But one question kept showing up in the comments:

“What about Trader Joe's?”

And then it followed me offline. I was eating dinner in Braselton when someone actually stopped to ask me about Trader Joe's!

So naturally, I started digging. 🔎

Is Trader Joe's Coming to Braselton, Georgia?

As of September 2026, I have not found an announcement from Trader Joe's confirming a Braselton location.

That distinction is important. There is plenty of local interest, but I don’t want a social-media rumor turning into “Trader Joe's is coming to Braselton.”

What I did discover is that Trader Joe's provides an official way for customers to request a store in their city.

Trader Joe's explains that location decisions are ultimately business decisions and considers factors including population and accessibility, traffic patterns and parking. The company also cautions that large numbers of requests or organized campaigns do not necessarily determine where it opens a store.

In other words, submitting a request does not mean Braselton will get a Trader Joe's, but it gives residents an official place to express their interest.

Would Braselton Be a Good Location for Trader Joe's?

This is where the REALTOR® in me gets curious.

The Braselton area has changed dramatically, particularly along the Highway 211 corridor near Chateau Elan and I-85.

Braselton itself extends into Gwinnett, Hall, Jackson and Barrow counties, which means looking only at the population inside the town limits doesn’t tell the whole story of this retail market.

The surrounding area includes Braselton, Hoschton, Flowery Branch, Buford and nearby portions of Northeast Metro Atlanta, and Highway 211 continues to attract new residential and commercial development.

The U.S. Census Bureau estimates Braselton’s 2024 population at approximately 17,400, up nearly 30% from its 2020 population base. Median household income was approximately $121,000, and about 45% of adults age 25 and older held a bachelor’s degree or higher.

Those numbers don’t tell us whether Trader Joe's would select Braselton, but they help explain why national retailers continue paying attention to this growing part of Northeast Georgia.

Where Is the Closest Trader Joe's to Braselton?

The closest Trader Joe's is now in Johns Creek, at 1000 Medley Boulevard, Johns Creek, GA 30097. Trader Joe's lists that location as open on its official store directory.

That’s another reason the Braselton conversation is interesting. Trader Joe's has continued expanding into suburban Metro Atlanta markets, while Braselton and the Highway 211 corridor continue growing.

But again, there is currently no confirmed Trader Joe's location in Braselton.

What IS Coming to Braselton?

While we wait to see what happens with Trader Joe's, there is plenty of real development news happening around Braselton.

Sprouts Farmers Market is planned for the former Publix space at the Vineyards at Chateau Elan shopping center at 2095 Highway 211 NW. Construction is underway, and the planned store is approximately 23,000 square feet.
